A proposal in the ring – Jeremy & Jessica

10 Nov Engagement / Photographed by Chelsea Gray / Saturday November 7th 2009 On Saturday night I headed out to support local amateur boxer Jeremy Rubin fight against his opponent at the "Super Gala Boxe Olympique" in Montreal. Now, shooting sports is a tough job, I might add (and especially when it's your friend in the ring deflecting punches to the face!),  so my poor heart was beating frantically as I photographed the match. Once the fight was over, I jumped onto the side of the ring to grab a few more pictures up close when suddenly Jer beckoned his girlfriend Jessica to the ring for a "picture".  To everyone's surprise, he got down on bended knee, exhausted and sweaty, and proposed to her amid uproarious applause from the crowd. Steph & Jake

03 Oct Wedding / Photographed by Chelsea Gray & Elizabeth Delage / Wentworth, Qc. / Saturday, September 19th 2009 Elizabeth and I headed out early on Saturday so that we could take a leisurely drive past Lachute to Wentworth, Quebec for Stephanie and Jacob's wedding. The quaint ceremony was held on a grassy knoll overlooking the water on the bride's family's property. The ceremony was simple and heartfelt, and the guests kept warm despite the chilly September air that breezed through their shawls as they chatted in the sunny garden of the property.  After the ceremony, the guests headed to the dreamy Dunany Country Club for the cocktail hour that was catered by the ultra-impressive Avocado catering company, meanwhile, Liz and I took photos of Steph and Jake on the famous 6th hole, where they got engaged. The LONG walk from the 6th hole to the country club must have been challenging for our bride, (in her cute periwinkle Marc Jacobs pumps) but was worth it for the grand entrance! Joanne & Anthony

07 Sep Wedding / Photographed by Chelsea Gray / Langley, Bc. / Saturday, August 29th 2009 So I headed back to Vancouver for my third time this summer to shoot Anthony and Joanne's wedding out in the country in Langley, BC. Anthony and I used to hang back when we were 18 and frequented many punk and ska shows in Vancouver, so I knew this night would make for quite a rockin' party! These two lovebirds were so enjoyable to watch...I actually caught them whispering  in a cutesy: "I love you!"..."No, I love YOU MORE!" back-and-forth. The ceremony was held in a sort of barn-like reception hall and the Rockabilly dj's made sure the 50's hits rocked on well into the night! After a few rum and cokes and a lot of dancing,  I sauntered over to my b+b across the street with this song in my head (and it continued until the next day).
