When Stephanie and David met with me last year regarding the planning of their upcoming nuptials at the Montreal Science Center, they had explained to me that their original plan was to marry in an intimate ceremony at a castle in England. Their vision was to marry with only a handful of friends, but that idea was quickly vetoed by family. I completely understand their flair for adventure, (as I most likely will have a destination wedding one day), so I set to organizing an engagement session that could reflect the misty English countryside. I came across the Tour de Lévi on Parc Jean Drapeau  and we were set to shoot! Armed with a gorgeous bohemian flower-band by the extremely talented Atelier Carmel, we braved the elements (-10!) and came up with some WHITE HOT little images.

While Elizabeth and I were away shooting in India this January, James invited me to come along to what would be a "very laid back & fun" wedding

with great people once I got back. I couldn't resist (even though I'd most likely be jet-lagged) so I told him to count me in!

From the chilly Westmount portrait session & emotional ceremony to the reception speeches at the stunning Ritz-Carleton Montreal, this wedding was action-packed in all the right ways. Oh, and nothing beats a good old Ben & Jerry's sundae bar at midnight- The crowd went wild for it!

Parmal & Karn

Steph & Fred

01 Apr Engagement / Photographed by Chelsea Gray / Montreal, Qc. / Saturday, March 27th 2010 In Quebec, come mid- March, we pride ourselves in gorging on big, delicious pieces of meat(s) and pancakes drizzled in syrup amongst family and friends at our famous "Cabane A Sucres"... Now, I'm a vegetarian (well, Pescatarian, actually), whom after 10 years of living in Montreal has never even set foot in one, nor have I celebrated the epic CARNIVAL festival in Quebec city...(oh, shame on meeee!),  so when a couple suggested that we hit up a Cabane a Sucre for an engagement shoot, I was all aboard! Steph and Fred are the kind of folks that I can get along with...always joking, totally sarcastic...they're just a treat, really. We headed all the way out to Rigaud to the Sucrerie de la Montage and we were absolutely blown away by the warm ambiance of the dining rooms and the food was actually quite impressive! (I've heard mixed reviews to date on the food, but I can live with slightly bland potatoes in exchange for the atmosphere). Overall, we had a great time and I can honestly say that these two make great new friends for me.
