PRESS  / Photographed by Chelsea Gray + Elizabeth Delage / Montreal, Qc.

We're sad to hear that Canada's stylish and crafty wedding blog Ushi & Kay will be retiring their blog this week. They did such a great job featuring our Eco-Conscious St-Henri wedding of Sarah and Dominique a few months ago, so check it out while it's up!

Cindy & Jean-Nicola

26 Jul Engagement / Photographed by Chelsea Gray & Roberto Ugarte / Chertsey, Qc. / Friday, July 23rd 2010 Cindy and Jean-Nicola are going to have quite the traditional wedding this September so I asked them if they'd like to go a little crazy on their engagement shoot. I sent Cindy a few links to the most amazing engagement shoots that have been blogged about recently (one included a take on the movie UP) and she emailed me back that she'd like to head to Jean-Nicola's cottage in Chertsey Quebec and re-create scenes from their favourite movie "The Notebook"... She promised he'd even grow his beard out and everything! Well, how could I resist? I just had to rent the movie first- apparently I'm "the last woman in the world who hasn't seen the movie" according to the kid at the rental store. A few things to note: Doesn't Cindy look exactly like Rachel McAdams? It's crazy! Plus, if you notice carefully, Jean-Nic doesn't sport the promised beard (we had to reschedule the shoot to a later date due to thunderstorms and by then, the beard had grown quite long and he had to shave it! I'm so in love with this shoot, check it out: smaller smaller_8 smaller_10 two cin5_0 smaller_16

Julia & Eric

05 Sep Wedding / Photographed by Chelsea Gray, Neel Mehra and Paulo Rodrigues / Brome, Qc. / Saturday, August 1st 2009 Hey ladies,  you know when you dream of your big day...the dream wedding- and you conjure up these beautiful bright images of people laughing and dancing in the sun, with children swinging on swings, a picturesque landscape! Romance and dancing....all that good stuff!? Well, Julia and Eric had all that and more at their wedding on August 1st. They couldn't have picked a more inspiring landscape: Brome Quebec, the family's farm for generations- a place where they all congregate as a family and have witnessed more than a few weddings on its very fields. I only wish I could convey to you just how warm and wonderful the day went...It all started with the girls getting ready in the old farmhouse. As the aunts were in the kitchen putting the finishing touches on strawberry pies, the bridesmaids were applying their makeup to music as they sweat gloriously in their half-tops and shorts...It was so humid that it was reminiscent of the American South, (I swear all we were missing were a few mint juleps and a Southern twang).  When it was time for the ceremony, the crowd gathered far into the fields and were waiting for the girls to emerge from the farmhouse...Well, emerge did they ever! In their "butterfly" bridesmaid dresses, the ladies sauntered effortlessly through the path to the ceremony site and well, everything else is history!
