JANNA AND GORDY (wedding)

Sometimes when the wedding planning is getting too tough to handle, you’ve gotta get back to your roots and simplify things. That was the case for Janna and Gordy, who decided to change up their initial plans and tie the knot in their backyard amongst family and friends, with a good old Italian style party, followed by a wildly entertaining reception. Here are some of my favourite shots of their day.

SHAUNA AND TIM (wedding)

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Saturday, August 29th  2009 photographed by Neel Mehra and Paulo Rodrigues (Montreal, Qc)

Here is our 3rd wedding of August 29th!

Shauna and Tim’s wedding was celtic-themed and took place at the St Willibrord’s church in Verdun, followed by a rockin’ reception at the Salles du Boisé in Mercier, Quebec. Paulo took the most hilarious kid shots of the season while Tim was getting ready, that I’m tempted to add about 4 of them…(There’s nothing like toddlers dressed up in suits to make us smile!) Kudos to Neel and Paulo for capturing such dreamy images of  the couple near the Lachine Rapids. Although the air was very cold,  it was well worth the effort. ~Comhghairdeas!

Saturday, August 29th  2009 photographed by Richmond Lam and Élizabeth Delage (Montreal, Qc)

August 29th was a very busy date for us! We had triple-booked and the possibility of rain was imminent…

Richmond and Élizabeth ventured out to Westmount’s “Ascension of our Lord” for Leah and Sebastien’s ceremony, followed by the reception at Perspective 235 and the Passerelle, in Montreal’s Old Port. The decor was perfectly arranged with a teal colour scheme and decadent European atmosphere. Our team of videographers told me that the highlight of the night was the technically intricate slideshow that was put together by Leah’s brother Doug, which brought crazy laughter from every table. I think that despite the ongoing downpour that occurred during the day, Richmond really pulled through with some edgier shots in the parkade adjacent to the reception. Check them out!

A proposal in the ring! (engagement)

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Photography by Chelsea Gray, Saturday November 7th 2009

On Saturday night I headed out to support local amateur boxer Jeremy Rubin fight against his opponent at the “Super Gala Boxe Olympique” in Montreal. Now, shooting sports is a tough job, I might add (and especially when it’s your friend in the ring deflecting punches to the face!),  so my poor heart was beating frantically as I photographed the match. Once the fight was over, I jumped onto the side of the ring to grab a few more pictures up close when suddenly Jer beckoned his girlfriend Jessica to the ring for a “picture”.  To everyone’s surprise, he got down on bended knee, exhausted and sweaty, and proposed to her amid uproarious applause from the crowd. Everyone was going bananas, the proposal was perfect, and Jessica screamed out “YES!!!” as Jer was hoisted into the air like a champ.
