Monday, June 22nd 2009   photographed by Richmond Lam

Below are a few samples from a recent engagement shoot that was done in the Plateau Mont-Royal by Richmond. We’ve had so much rain lately that these summery photos were like a breath of fresh air to view!

MARC AND RASHA (wedding)

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

Saturday, May 30 2009   photographed by Neel Mehra and Paolo Rodrigues

Marc and I grew up in Vancouver and went to the same high school in our teens.  At age 13, I can honestly remember shivering with excitement when I sat next to him in English class, but alas, his love was not reciprocated. (What can I say? I guess my “coke bottle glasses” weren’t a turn on in grade 8)!  So enough about me, let’s get back to Marc.

Marc is a very politically conscious singer/composer of the band, Jai Guru,  so when it came time to pop the question to his longtime love, Rasha, it was a natural decision that he serenade her…

Rasha was called one night to meet Marc at La Sala Rosa, a popular concert hall in Montreal.  He told her it was an impromptu Jai Guru concert so she should hurry. As she ran up the stairs to enter the hall, there was no one to be seen, except for Marc, alone on the stage. He sang out to her from the stage and got down on one knee. Woo! How romantique…

Unfortunately I was already booked by the time Marc and Rasha chose their date, so as a wedding present, I sent him two rising talents (and new additions to Blushing Bride Studio) Neel and Paolo. Their images are absolutely stunning and I am looking forward to working a lot with them in the future.

PERRY AND SARAH (wedding)

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Saturday, May 23 2009   photographed by Chelsea Gray and Neel Mehra

I have known Perry for many years now, as he’s managed and promoted many hip hop and rock bands in Montreal. We’ve had some pretty crazy times together during concerts and various photoshoots I’ve created for the talent he represents around town, so when it came time for his wedding, I was certainly on board!

It was a beautiful day, from start to finish, and we relaxed after the Greek ceremony out in the parks of Bois Franc with Heinekens and a lot of laughs…The highlight of the day for me was watching Perry beam throughout the day, through tears of joy, and his bride….my goodness, was she a stunner! Sarah absolutely brought me to tears when her family serenaded her with a traditional Ethiopian dance under a silk scarf canopy.  (I’m such a sucker for dancing when there’s no ego…they just let loose!).

IT’S A GOOD THING! (great vendors we support)

Friday, June 5th, 2009

As Martha Stewart coined the term “It’s a good thing!” to describe her favourite musings,  I would like to take the opportunity to introduce my fellow blog fans (is there a proper word for those?) to the vendors Blushing Bride Studio recommends. Planning a wedding is seriously like taking on a second full-time job so to ease the pain of googling like mad, I am offering my brides and grooms-to-be a list of some of my favourite wedding vendors that are both exceptional service providers and affordable!

WEDDING BLOGS| STYLE ME PRETTY
website: www.stylemepretty.com

This wedding blog was introduced to me by my lovely bride Sarah Selamou (who’s wedding pics will be posted next!)… It is the most stylish blog I have ever seen for the bride who knows what she wants and I absolutely recommend it for the diy section and “real weddings” ideas. Abby describes her creation as “a chic blog for the style obsessed bride. As a blogger, I am forever in search of inspiration…whether it’s my grandfather’s sketches or my niece’s paintings, the perfect pair of ballet flats or a blush colored peony. There are no boundaries for inspiration just as there are no boundaries when it comes to Style Me Pretty.”

WEDDING REGISTRIES| THE MAN REGISTRY
website: www.themanregistry.com

Two brothers and their future brother-in-law founded TheManRegistry.com in 2007 when they noticed that many of their close friends and family were getting married, but too often were registered for wedding gifts that were strictly geared toward the kitchen and bedroom. Where were the wedding gifts that the groom could get excited about? It was clear that creating a wedding registry tailored to grooms was necessary. Thus, TheManRegistry.com was conceived and built as the place where grooms and brides could register for wedding gifts they could put to use in the backyard, garage, or basement bar. This site is hilarious and I think men deserve to have a say in what they want as wedding gifts, right? This is the place to find that ideal 64 oz Jumbo flask, or George Foreman Spinning Lean Mean Fryer!
